SMS Messaging

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on event scheduling and group activity. You may receive event invitations, confirmations, reminders, status updates, and poll messages.

Message and Data Rates: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your messaging plan.

Carriers: SMSGO messaging is supported on all major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Consent and Opt-In

SMSGO sends SMS messages only to individuals who have provided consent through one of the following methods:

Organizer Registration: Group organizers add member phone numbers after obtaining verbal or written consent from those individuals.
Self Opt-In: Individuals may text JOIN to the SMSGO number to subscribe to their group's messages.

Consent to receive messages is not a condition of participation in any events or groups.

Opt-Out and Unsubscribe

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by:

Replying STOP or LEAVE to any SMSGO message.
Contacting your group organizer to request removal.
Emailing us at support@smsgo.org.

Upon opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further messages will be sent unless you re-subscribe.

With Group Organizers: Member names, phone numbers, and RSVP responses are visible to the organizer who manages your group.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

Your Rights and Control

Data Retention

We retain account and messaging data for as long as your account or group membership is active. When a member opts out or is removed, their information is retained for a reasonable period for compliance and record-keeping purposes, after which it is deleted.

SMSGO is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
